Frequently Asked Questions

SteadyWay Counseling is centered on consistent, individualized care. You work with the same therapist over time, allowing the therapeutic relationship to build on an established understanding of your experiences and goals.

People seek therapy for many reasons, including stress, anxiety, depression, grief, caregiving, burnout, chronic illness, relationship concerns, self-esteem, and major life changes. You do not need to wait until things become a crisis.

Session frequency is individualized. Weekly sessions may be appropriate for some clients, while others may meet on a different schedule based on clinical need, goals, availability, and treatment planning.

There is no universal timeline. Some clients seek focused short-term support, while others benefit from longer-term therapy. We can periodically review your goals and progress together.

Therapy is confidential and protected by applicable law and professional standards. Confidentiality is not absolute, and there are limited circumstances in which information may be disclosed without your authorization when permitted or required by law. These limits are reviewed during informed consent.

Caregiver support can provide a place to discuss exhaustion, guilt, grief, family dynamics, boundaries, and the emotional strain of caring for another person.

A previous therapy experience does not necessarily predict what a future one will be like. Different therapists, approaches, timing, goals, and circumstances can all affect the experience. A consultation can help you decide whether this approach feels like a better fit.

Some sessions may bring up strong emotions. We can discuss pacing and coping strategies that may help between sessions. If you are experiencing an immediate psychiatric or medical emergency, seek appropriate emergency assistance.

A consultation gives you the opportunity to ask questions, learn about my approach, and decide whether you feel comfortable moving forward.
